Service Description
It's time for robot basic training! Battle bots need to be able to follow precise instructions. In this camp, students will build, modify, and program a robot using the LEGO Spike Prime® kit. They will learn to use motors and sensors to detect objects and assist in navigation. Then, they will use the EFK Engineering Design Process to complete a variety of basic training bootcamp challenges with their battle bots. Since our junior campers will be learning all about animals this week, we will be joining them for a special presentation on the the last day of camp with real animal visitors at camp! This camp is for APPRENTICE engineers (aged 9-11). Depending on interest, campers may also explore other types of coding including using Bitsbox for app design. Laptops are provided for the week, and coding challenges are broken up with hands-on electrical engineering challenges as well as group game time. We are excited to be partnering with LaserTopia and Petland to offer fun STEM-based camp activities, laser tag and arcade time, and real animal visitors! Camp runs Monday-Friday 9:00am-4:00pm with early drop off at 8:30am and late pick-up at 4:30pm. One day drop-in option available on request- please email winnipeg@engineeringforkids.com directly to inquire. Campers must bring their own nut-free lunch. Food is also available for purchase from LaserTopia. Snacks and water always provided.
