Service Description

It’s time for robot basic training! Soldier bots need to be able to follow precise instructions to make it home from battle. In this camp, students will build, modify, and program a robot using the LEGO® Spike Prime kit. They will learn to use motors and sensors to detect objects and assist in navigation. Then, they will use the EFK Engineering Design Process to complete a variety of basic training boot camp challenges with their soldier bots. Campers will also learn to design their own apps using introductory JavaScript as time allows. This camp is geared for engineers aged 8-11, with activities that can be scaled in difficulty to suit student interest. We are excited to be partnering with North Kildonan United Church to offer a camp with plenty of time inside working on engineering projects and related arts and crafts, and plenty of time outside using NKUC's beautiful green space with games, sports, water toys, bouncers, and more! Camp runs Monday-Friday 9:00am-4:00pm with free early drop off at 8:30am and late pick-up to 4:30pm. One day drop-in option available on request- please email winnipeg@engineeringforkids.com directly to inquire. Snacks and water are always available, but campers must bring their own nut-free lunch.
