Service Description

It’s time for robot basic training! Soldier bots need to be able to follow precise instructions to make it home from battle. In this camp, students will build, modify, and program a robot using the LEGO® Spike Prime kit. They will learn to use motors and sensors to detect objects and assist in navigation. Then, they will use the EFK Engineering Design Process to complete a variety of basic training boot camp challenges with their soldier bots. Campers will also learn to design their own apps using introductory JavaScript as time allows. This camp is geared for engineers aged 8-12, with activities that can be scaled in difficulty to suit student interest. We are excited to be partnering with Serratus Movement Centre to offer half a day featuring fun STEM-based camp activities, and half a day on the parkour gym with SMC’s coaches! Camp runs Monday-Thursday 9:00am-4:00pm with free early drop off at 8:30am and late pick-up to 4:30pm. Campers interested only in parkour are encouraged to join the SMC camp instead- please contact Serratus Movement Centre directly. Half day options are also available for campers who are only interested in the engineering part of the day. Please email winnipeg@engineeringforkids.com for more information. Snacks and water are always available, but campers must bring their own nut-free lunch.
