Service Description

Welcome to STEAM Club! Fun for new and returning students alike, STEAM club participants will get to colour, craft, and create as they learn about science and engineering. New in 2026, we have junior and apprentice classes! Our apprentice class runs 60 minutes, with plenty of opportunity for students to design, test, and improve their projects. Theis class has 1 instructor. 12 students maximum. Parents may stay for the class, or drop students off and pick up at the end of class time. THURSDAYS 5:30pm-6:30pm Steinbach Arts Council (304 Second Street) SESSION 1: January 8-February 5 (5 classes) - January 8: Archery - Build a mini bow and arrow set! - January 15: Operation - Wire a version of the Operation board game! - January 22: Skateboarding - Design an obstacle for a finger board! - January 29: Breathe Easy - Design a greenhouse to let light in without letting heat out! - February 5: Rubber Band Racer - Construct a rubber band-powered vehicle! SESSION 2: February 19-March 19 (5 classes) - February 19: Hit the Slopes - Design a vehicle to travel the farthest with no wheels! - February 26: Totally Tubular - Build a potential-energy-powered rocket launcher! - March 5: Flashlights - Learn about circuits and switches to create a working flashlight! - March 12: Tidy Bot - Wire a small motor to craft a sweeper robot! - March 19: Snowball Launcher - Build a mini catapult and design a structure to withstand flying projectiles! The more you attend, the more you save! - $20 for a single class - $90 for half session (5 weeks at $18/ class) -$150 for full session (10 weeks at $15/ class) Please note that we are unable to refund missed classes – if you know you will not be able to attend the full session, please register for "one class" for all of the dates you will be attending. This is a science-based class with an emphasis on crafting and creating. It is recommended for age 8-12. All activities can be modified to increase or decrease difficulty for individual students. PLEASE NOTE: If you have children in both junior and apprentice age groups and would like to keep them together, please contact winnipeg@engineeringforkids.com to discuss which class is better suited.
