Service Description

Welcome to STEAM Club! Fun for new and returning students alike, STEAM club participants will get to colour, craft, and create as they learn about science and engineering. New in 2026, we have junior and apprentice classes! Our junior class runs 45 minutes, and each activity has a story book that introduces the science concept or inspiration for the day's engineering project. This class has 1 instructor. Maximum 12 students. Parents may stay for the class, or drop students off and pick up at the end of class time. THURSDAYS 4:30pm-5:15pm Steinbach Arts Council (304 Second Street) SESSION 1: January 8-February 5 (5 classes) - January 8: Moonshot - Create a vehicle that can land on various terrains! - January 15: Swing Scoop Score: Craft a cup-and-ball toy! - January 22: Catch the Wind: Create a wind turbine that can use the wind to lift a load! - January 29: Scraping the Sky: Discover what makes tall structures strong! - February 5: Make Like a Tree: Build a wind-powered vehicle! SESSION 2: February 17-March 17 (5 classes) - February 19: Beyond Trains - Learn what an engineer is and design a house for a toy figure! - February 26: Parachutes - Protect a toy figure from a fall by designing a parachute! - March 5: Restore the Reef - Learn how environmental engineers protect wildlife by creating a model coral reef! - March 12: Elephants on a Bridge - Build and test different model bridges! - March 19: Pop-Itz - Use potential energy to launch a projectile! The more you attend, the more you save! - $15 for a single class - $65 for half session (5 weeks at $13/ class) -$120 for full session (10 weeks at $12/ class) Please note that we are unable to refund missed classes – if you know you will not be able to attend the full session, please register for "one class" for all of the dates you will be attending. This is an introductory engineering class with an emphasis on crafting and creating. It is recommended for age 4-7. All activities can be modified to increase or decrease difficulty for individual students. PLEASE NOTE: If you have children in both junior and apprentice age groups and would like to keep them together, please contact winnipeg@engineeringforkids.com to discuss which class is better suited.
