Small Group Workshops - 2026/2027
Longer, more intensive engineering activities for smaller groups
Service Description
Book an instructor to bring an engineering activity to your group. All materials are included and kids are actively participating the whole time. Different than our Large Group Workshops, these activities are a more in-depth exploration of a science concept with a more complicated building process. Perfect for home-school groups and one-off events. Each of the following activities takes two full hours. Facilities may elect to include an additional game time, snack, or movement break for a total of up to 2.5 hours of supervised time at no additional charge: o Powered Vehicles - Build a vehicle frame under instructor guidance, then explore how different power sources can propel the vehicle, from a simple sail all the way up to a small motor! o Operation – Explore circuits and conductivity as you create your own version of the Operation board game! o Battle Bots – A crash course on building and coding LEGO robots! Working in teams of 2-3, participants will learn some basic code and design a robot to compete in a friendly robo-battle. **Robots and laptops included for class use only. All workshops are suitable for ages about 8-12. Facilities must provide an additional adult for supervision of groups that are 8 kids or more. Fees: o $250 per workshop o A mileage fee of $0.73/km both ways applies to locations outside of Winnipeg, measured from the nearest perimeter. 15 students maximum per workshop. If you have more than 15 students, you must split into two groups and book two workshops, or book a Large Group Workshop instead. To book multiple days or a full day of sessions, please contact winnipeg@engineeringforkids.com to book directly. This is a great option for out-of-town groups to maximize their programming with only one travel fee!
