Service Description

Book an instructor to bring an engineering activity to your group. All materials are included and kids get to keep what they make. Perfect for day cares and home school groups! Each category (junior, apprentice, or all ages) has multiple workshop options - one option takes the whole hour. Junior Engineers (ages 4-7): - Glow in the Dark Dough Work as chemical engineers to concoct a batch of play dough that glows in the dark! Please note: this activity involves paint and can be very messy. - High and Dry: Read a silly story about a certain long-haired princess, then work in teams as civil engineers to construct towers for her using only newspaper! - Magnet Hop: Learn about magnetism as you engineer a toy that uses magnets to make a bunny hop! - Ball Run: Work as mechanical engineers to design your own version of a classic marble run game - no marbles required. Apprentice Engineers (ages 8-12): - Archery: Work as aerospace engineers to build your own mini archery set. - Build a Better Dome: Work as civil engineers to turn flat craft material into 3D domes! - Light Up Greetings: Work as electrical engineers to design a greeting card with a light up feature! - Car Joust: Work as mechanical engineers to design a vehicle to survive a crash test! Perfect for all ages: - Straw Rockets: work as aerospace engineers to construct and launch a mini indoor rocket! - Sand Slime: Work as chemical engineers to mix up two versions of slime and observe different properties! With the exception of High and Dry, all workshops end with a physical item for each participant to bring home. 30 students maximum per workshop- additional $7/ student for groups over 30. For groups of 10 or less, or to book multiple days, please contact winnipeg@engineeringforkids.com to book directly.
