Service Description

Using LEGO® Spike Prime robotics kit, students will learn how to build robots with sensors and actuators, and program them using block coding to complete amazing challenges! Our winter theme is here: Rescue Bots! In this introductory coding class, students will program robots to complete recue missions in simulated disaster zones - think rescuing lost hikers, navigating an avalanche, and repairing a fallen bridge. At the beginner level, students are provided with robot build instructions and step-by-step solutions of coding challenges, with opportunities to try their own code as the class progresses. Participants work in teams of 2. This theme does not repeat ANY challenges from ANY of our previous coding classes! Recommended for ages 8-10, but some younger students with previous experience with LEGO® or block coding may wish to participate - please contact winnipeg@engineeringforkids.com or 204-808-3019 directly to discuss registering kids outside of the recommended ages. MONDAYS January 5-January 26 AND February 23-March 23 (9 weeks) 5:00pm-6:00pm Fort Garry Community Centre - Hobson 880 Oakenwald Ave Participants work in teams of 2 and are paired by age.
