École Tuxedo Park Grades K-2 (Wednesdays at 5:30pm)

STEM Live virtual programs for École Tuxedo Park (K-2)

Through weekly hands-on projects, following the engineering design process, students will discover for themselves how engineers use STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) to make our lives easier everyday.

Grades K-2

Wednesdays 5:30-6:30pm

Dates: February 24, March 3, 10, 17

Feb 24: Mechanical Engineering—Cinderella! Students build getaway cars for Cinderella and learn about wheel and axle systems.

March 3: Civil Engineering—Three Little Pigs! Students build and test three different houses against the Big Bad Wolf!

March 10: Chemical Engineering—Bubble Bliss + Wacky wands! Students will explore properties of a liquid during this bouncing bubbles lesson. They will experiment concocting two different bubble solutions to determine which one produces stronger bubbles. They will explore how the design of the bubble wand affects the size and shape.

March 17: Aerospace Engineering—Parachutes! Students engineer a functional parachute for a test jumper that must descend gracefully after being dropped from a tall height. After the testing phase, which is an important part of the Engineering Design Process, students will be able to improve upon their design.

Charges are $50+GST for 4 weeks. Limited spots. Kits will be delivered directly to you. Please allow for 2-3 days for delivery.
